Forget whether you like or dislike George Bush as a President - it's not relevant to this. Kanye West was asked to join this broadcast effort for one reason - because his celebrity status could help attract people to the cause and bring in donations to help the people in need. Instead, he decided it was more important to go off script and air his own personal prejudices and beliefs. There can be no doubt that a large number of viewers found those comments, at the very least, distasteful - if not vile and hateful. While I would like to believe they will ignore his diatribe and still donate, I think it's reasonable to believe that some just turned it off in disgust. That wasn't his job, and it was a selfish, self-centered thing to do.

Have any members been affected by this storm? Anyone podcasting from those areas? I haven't seen any mention, just curious. After the three in a row we had last year, I feel sad for anyone involved.
