Blog Entry … Use this option when posting general news related to your individual podcast. Other qPodder users will have the ability to post their feedback and comments based on your main post. Blog entries show on the main page based on the date they were posted.
You can submit blog entries using Filtered or Full HTML. The default is filtered HTML which means that you can enter the most widely used HTML tags into the entry form and the system will recognize them in the display. For help with what tags are recognized please see: http://www.qpodder.org/?q=filter/tips.
The Full HTML option should be used if you want the system to automatically format your paragraphs and line breaks for you. Use this option if you don’t want to use inserted HTML tags or only want standard text displayed.
The blog entry is the most used posting type on qPodder.
Book Page … Use this option if you are wanting to submit a topic or source of information beneath the Frequently Asked Questions of the website. Frequently Asked Questions (the FAQ tab at the top) is used to store information that is most helpful to new queercasters such as
- information on podsafe music
- graphics questions
- how to increase your subscriber base
- recommended software
and any other information which will most likely be asked again by another user in the future.
If your question or post relates to any of the topics above, please post it using book page so your question or information can be easily catalogued and viewed by new users who may be seeking the answer to a similar issue or question.
The information posted is stored in any easy to follow outline of topics so the average user can easily navigate to the topic they are seeking information about. Also, please be sure to check here before posting a new question – it could be your question has already been answered and the information you are looking for is already archived under the Frequently Asked Questions.
You create your entry the same way you would create a blog entry only for this option you will select which level of the Frequently Asked Question outline your topic relates best to. If your topic is not yet covered, select the top option (Queercasting FAQ) to create a new subject area.
Please note that it is important be concise yet descriptive in your Title field when posting for the FAQ page. People will be browsing based on what you have entered in the Title field and won’t see your complete post unless they drill further down.
Forum Topic … Use this option if you are wanting to submit a topic or source of information beneath the Forums section of the website. The Forums (the Forums tab at the top) is used to store topic threads for existing podcasters on topics such as ….
- Development (Feedback and growth for the qPodder site as a whole)
- Podcasting (Laws, industry standards, current issues that affect us as a whole)
- Public Relations (Promote your queercast to other queercasters and read the latest qPodder press releases)

Page … This option is used when posting website administration announcements. Other qPodder users will have the ability to post their feedback and comments based on your main post.
Poll … Use this option when you are wanting measured feedback from the other site users. Enter your question in the Title section and what choices you would like the users to be able to select from in the box below. The period of time the poll can be responded to is under the Poll Duration dropdown box. After the Poll Duration period expires, the poll will no longer take new responses and be closed.
Note: This option does not have a body section to allow you to describe the question you are posing to the community – the question will need to be clear on its own without additional information being required.
Story … Use this option when you are wanting to post an announcement, question or topic to the main page that does not meet any of the recommendations for Blog, Forum, Book (FAQ), or Page (website administration) entries. Use this option for posting broader issues or news that affects the queercaster community. You will post the same way as a blog entry.
